Piggy Duke Chapter 5 — This Commoner is so Bad at Magic!

Another day, another new chapter.

Hello again, it’s your friendly neighborhood TL! I have a few more things to say this time before we get to the links. First things first: I didn’t realize I had comments set to verified before they show up, and I also didn’t realize I had disabled anonymous commenting! Both those things should be fixed now, so comment away!

Another thing: I fixed a small error on the previous chapters, that being the scene separator bar being slightly off-center. It should now be fixed for all you OCD folk!

Now, we get to the exciting part! The introduction of a character unique to the light novels, Tina! She doesn’t appear in the web novel, and is actually an original addition to later renditions of the Piggy Duke story. In the web novel, a commoner by the name of Deppa resides in her place. This marks the light novel fully distancing itself from the source material.

But before you get worried, my statement from Chapter 3 still stands: the web novel follows the same structure as the light novel, so if you’re just here to learn the general story, feel free to read the web novel translations if you get bored.

(Small TL Note: I decided to translate one of the character’s exclamations as “fucking” in the translation. I’m aware there’s no real equivalent to that word in Japanese, but it’s the closest I can get to replicating her tone without actually having a recording of her emotion.)
